This discussion is also present on the comics as it is more of a topic there than here, but I would still like some advice on this:

how do I enter sets? I'm talking about the Vatican Year Set, for example, where there are several examples of it.

I can enter it just like the previous ones, but it would be great if it was also displayed as a group of individual coins. As far as I understand, Catawiki is still working on this 'bundling'.

Until then, should I only enter this as a set (so that it can be split later)? Or also as individual coins (so that this can be bundled later)?

Finally, the question about the holders, I know that preference is given to loose coins (on photos, etc.) but some come in a specially issued holder. should I make a difference or just leave it in my own notes if this is the case.

thanks in advance

Just look at the approved sets. Series "year set" for BU / UNC coins and "year set proof" for the PROOF sets.

Individual coins can also be entered. In my opinion, however, this makes no sense for euro coins that are not available separately. However, I do not disapprove of them. As a service, please put a piece of text in the comments field that these coins have not been put into circulation.

I don't know anything about 'bundling', but Rene and / or Marco could answer that.

Of course, preferably photograph coins without a holder. If the coin cannot be seen due to an annoying reflective plastic layer, entering it does not make much sense. I have previously posted tips about photographing coins in this forum.

If a coin is only delivered in holder, such as the commemorative 5 euro coins of the Netherlands, for example, it is not a separate catalog item. In that case the "coin card" is the same as the individual coin. To keep the catalog nicely uniform, I prefer photo 1 and 2 the coin itself and photo 3 the coin in holder.

I'm not sure if I should add this as a set but it looks like there are more people who own this.

Since this does not seem to me to be an official edition, I now wonder whether it would not be better to remove it and put it individually in my collection.

The question is, however, whether this detracts from the value, or whether the detached coins will not look good, since they have been so smart to stick the coins on the cardboard...

advice on this would be welcome

In my opinion, that tourist set has no added value because the coins are glued to a cardboard. I think coins are better preserved in airtight container.

If the glue residue is the problem, you can try WD-40. I use it to remove glue residue from various materials and from what I have seen so far it has no negative effect on coins.

In the management meeting last Saturday, it was decided about Muntsets:
  • Coin sets are serialized depending on what kind of set it is:
    • Year set
    • Year set proof
    • Euro intro set
    • Combiset (combination of countries and/or currencies and/or years). A coin set can therefore be in both the Year set series and the Combi set.
  • Commercial sets are now allowed . We cannot ignore the fact that sets that are not issued by the official mint are also collected and people are constantly adding them to the catalog because they do not understand this distinction. Concern has been expressed about the quality and unlimited expansion that this will result in, and future consultations must therefore also examine how the growth of these sets is proceeding.
  • Photo sequence: 1st photo is the "page" on which the coins with the year are shown, and the 2nd photo is the side on which the other side of the coins is (if visible). This is therefore 'analogous' to the order for individual coins. Only the third photo will therefore be the photo with the outside of many coin sets.
  • Do not fill in the diameter field for coin sets.

Eric
