I am a new member of Catawiki and a complete layman about comics. I currently own a Tintin comic: the crab with the golden claws. I thought it was a 1st edition from 1947 (that year is mentioned on the first page) but now someone has told me that it is not a 1st edition but an A47. I have no idea what an A47 is and how you can tell it. There is also such a thing as an A46 and what is that? Can someone show me around a bit and also tell me about the value of my comic?

A47 indicates the type of back cover. A46 is the first edition, A47 the second.

Back cover A47 should be the same as 1338633 .

A47 is not yet in Catawiki. According to Ottens, the catalog value is 400 Euro. However, that depends a lot on the condition of the album.

@Chateau

If you want to place the book with the front and back, Catawiki will be a bit more complete.

Yes, I would like to put the comic on Catawiki. Can you explain to me where and how?

In any case, thanks for the comments. I already know that this is a second edition.

Yes, you do

On the main page, go to comics, then the blue add item button on the left. Then a number of entry fields will appear. Please fill in as much as possible. Add image (front and back) and blue button at the bottom "add" and another book has been added. What you don't know, I can add later (in this case).

I have no further questions. The information given under details are taken from the Tintin (book) catalog "Tintin insight" by Peter Ottens. 106421 He has the differences between the first series of hardcover tufts and the first series of softcover with linen spine tufts selected and described.

The nice thing is that there are probably already two hardcover Tintins and one softcover Tintin in Catawiki, which he has not yet described.

If you have any questions. Let me know.
