Question: Is it true that there are two versions of the first editions of XIII? With and without a back number? I have different parts with the only difference being the back number. Years and backs are exactly the same. The roman numbers are also exactly the same.

Hey Rene,

back again?

I think 1 of those 2 is a reprint after all.

can you send me scans of the colophons?

Greetings Koen

Back numbers are only provided from number 9 "Voor Maria". The Roman numeral indicating the year of issue (or the printing) ran up to and including nr 8 "XIII contra I". From number 10 "El Cascador", "FIRST EDITION" is mentioned for first editions.

Number 9 falls in between (and no Roman numbering and no FIRST PRESS entry), as does the misfit number 13.

So all low numbers with back number are reprints.

You report that years and backs are the same, as well as the Roman numbering ... Can you double check that just to be sure ?! This may be correct for the legal filing numbers and copyright dates.

Hopefully you can go a little further with this.

Greetings,

Vancke-ke

For example nr 2: Where the Indian goes

With back number 2

MCMLXXXV, copyright 1985 by dargaud benelux brussels, deposit legal d / 1984/2377/311 ISBN / CIP 90-6793-189-6 Only 2 titles on the back.

I have placed a copy without a back number next to it. This one is EXACTLY the same as it says above. No difference to be seen except for the shirt number.
