Ik ben nieuw hier. Dit wil zeggen dat ik toch wel enkele honderden boeken moet inbrengen in de catalogus. Hieromtrent had ik enkele vragen.
1> Hoe duiden jullie op het boek aan dat deze reeds is ingebracht in de lastdodo catalogus. Ik dacht zelf aan een makkelijk afneembaar klevertje. Andere opties.
2> Hoe bepalen jullie de staat? Ik heb enkel boeken waarvan het papier helaas heel erg bruin geworden is. Laagste dat ik kan kiezen is redelijk. Ik koester ze voor de inhoud, maar 'redelijke staat' zou ik nu niet echt durven zeggen.
3> Misschien wat voorbarig want heb nog niet verder gezocht. Alras kwam ik een boek tegen in mijn verzameling dat niet voorkwam in de catalogus. Hoe voegen jullie een boek toe? Het kaft inscannen en uploaden of eerder een bestaande afbeelding opzoeken op het internet.
Genoeg vragen voor deze keer.

2> How do you determine the state? I only have books of which the paper has unfortunately turned very brown. Lowest I can choose is reasonable. I cherish them for the content, but I wouldn't really dare to say 'reasonable condition' now.
3> Maybe a bit premature because I haven't looked any further yet. Soon I came across a book in my collection that was not in the catalog. How do you add a book? Scan and upload the cover or rather look up an existing image on the internet.

2. De staat van het boek is alleen belangrijk als je het in je shop zet. Maar dan is bij de meeste boeken toch ook een uitgebreidere beschrijving van de conditie verstandig. In je verzameling maakt het m.i. niet veel uit, behalve misschien als je op zoek bent naar een beter exemplaar.
3. De kaft altijd zelf inscannen (of zo recht mogelijk fotograferen). Scans van andere websites zijn een absolute doodzonde op LastDodo en een reden om je item af te keuren (en dan heb je alles voor niks ingevoerd).

Ik heb enkel boeken waarvan het papier helaas heel erg bruin geworden is.
schattkDit zou inderdaad mogelijk een slechte staat kunnen opleveren, maar het is ook relatief. Als het bruin worden van het papier bij die oplage gebruikelijk is, zou de staat misschien wel goed kunnen zijn.
Dat hangt natuurlijk samen met het gebruikte papier en de ouderdom (bv. goedkoop 19e eeuws papier is heel vaak bruin geworden, maar ook het papier van oudere pockets).

schattkThis could indeed possibly result in a bad condition, but it is also relative. If browning of the paper is common in that edition, the condition might be good.
This of course depends on the paper used and the age (eg cheap 19th century paper has often turned brown, but also the paper of older paperbacks).
