Hello dear people,

I can't find much about it so I'll try it with you:

This two euro coin has the numbers 2 and the stars on the edge, but no ridges.
The ridges seem to have been punched incorrectly on the side of the coin (see photo).

The two also merge into the part where the ridges are.
On the other side of the coin is also an even smaller piece with ridges, otherwise the edge is completely smooth.

I think it's rare anyway. But I can't find much about it after much research.
Only about coins with nothing on the side I can find.

Can someone tell me more about this?
I am very curious!

Thank you in advance!

Oh this is a challenge.
could you weigh the coin? it could be too light roundel.
or a counterfeit... but why anyone would want to counterfeit a 2 euro france 2002 is beyond me.

I believe this is probably just a very damaged coin, although it could of course also be counterfeit. In the case of the previous pound coins, they even estimate that about 3% of all copies were counterfeit.
