Among the “popular artists” I see the necessary names that have probably conquered their place based on the number of items in the catalog, but in my opinion are not or have not been terribly popular. In addition, some artists / bands have few items to their name while there are others that are not in the overview with more items by name.
I have never heard of Milva, sorry Milvajunk, Boudewijn de Groot is / was more popular than Doe Maar ?, Kim Wilde scored 2 or 3 hits in NL at the beginning of the 80s.

When you render subjectively, perhaps want to record something from all genres, I really expect to welcome Eddie Cochran, The Ramones and Blondie soon.

What is popular, coincidentally my favorite group, has actually only released 13 albums and about 30 singles, yet they are reasonably listed on Catawiki due to the individual deviating versions cover carrier or whatever.
Popular here is not meant to be popular as an artist but as a collector's item and indeed it sometimes looks a bit crooked.

That's right, Dick, but look at some artists and the number of items, you will see that there are some with a not too large number of items, there are artists who have many more to their name. Then you objectively start from the number of collection items. That is not the case now; number of items plays a role, but is not decisive.

I didn't look at it like that, I assumed popular actually stood for most items.

I assume you have a critical view, I don't know how it is put together.

but then you do indeed have a period.

But I have to say I don't like competition in that respect.

It's based on randomness. Still, if you look closely, they are all great world artists. Even though you've never heard of Milva :-) As far as the Boudewijn de Groot vs Doe duel is concerned: I wonder who of those 2 has sold the most records. Boudewijn de Groot has been number 1 in the Top 2000 (for what it's worth) :-) Don't do it.
Even though they are not all my favorites, I still think it is a very passable list.

Some time ago René made an appeal to add artists and I gave up Freddie Quinn and Kim Wilde, among others. Partly because there are beautiful collections of both artists in Catawiki. Not because I'm a fan…

I think there are more possibilities, so bring those names.
I'm curious….
