London was a sub-label of Decca England and was represented in the Netherlands by Philips / Phonogram. In the 50s and 60s, American recordings by, among others, Dot and Atlantic were released in Europe on London with the mention London American Recordings in the logo. Jazz records were also released with a London American Jazz Recordings logo and even a few records with London American Dot Recording.
Because the whole thing was a mess, I've finished all London records in recent weeks. There were some with label London, some with label London American Recordings etc. I gave them all the label London and put the records with the mention London American Recordings in a series. The Jazz and the Dot are now also in their own series.
I also made quite a few improvements: a number of release countries were incorrect and the year of release was not always correct.

Great job Frans.
And now on to the RCA Victor Label, there are only about 1000, kidding.
Greetings John.

Yep and how about Tamla Motown? In America Tamla was for solo artists and Motown for groups, but for Europe Gordy used Tamla-Motown together....

As I have seen it, there are about 300 more at Tamla Motown.
When I see it at e.g. RCA Victor then I will of course take them apart, records with the RCA Victor Label are also regularly entered, I have also regularly written to the importers whether they want to separate them when they are entered, they do that, but some say that yes it is also in the dropdown box.
That also remains a problem, I also changed them all manually, and RCA Victor disappears from the dropdown box, all you have to do is enter RCA Victor again and he is there again in, but yes that will take some time, if it ever gets to about 1000 pieces.
Greetings John.

An administrator will actually have to remove the relevant entry from the underlying database. That is sometimes forgotten. It's also a lot of searching.

Hold on! ;-)

If an area is empty, it will be deleted overnight. But you're right; the moment someone fills it in again without using the drop-down menu, it's back again. The moment I have an area empty, I delete it immediately. But that only gives you half a day's respite ;-)

And of course I will continue to do my best Rob. In the end everything will be fine. I've already started working on TamlaMotown ;-)

Tamla Motown is ready. Where only Tamla was on the label, I listed Tamla as the only label. There are users who also mentioned Motown there, but I removed that. Likewise with Motown. Tamla removed where necessary. For items with Labels bearing the TamlaMotown logo, I have indicated
TamlaMotown as the only label. Furthermore, quite a few tracks and other data have been added and errors have been corrected. Was quite simple actually: release numbers with T are all from Tamla and American ;-) LPs with barcodes do not date from the 60s and 70s....

It was striking that many singles appeared in the Netherlands in the 60s on label Motown, also by Tamla artists and that they were released in the Netherlands by Artone. I did mention Artone as an extra label. Artone also used own release numbers. They started with 2 letters (the initials of the producer or technician) and a number: 25.XXX
