I don't think the search function works anymore. For example, within Postcards I search for 'Henk Rotgans'. I know there must be hundreds of cards in the Catawiki database. Only 9 results are shown. It appears that only the cards contained in a Suit are shown.

Only happens when you use more than 1 search term. If I only search for 'Brent Goose' I get hundreds of results. If you then search again on 'Brent Brent Goose' you will find 0 results ...

De zoekfunctie werkt denk ik niet meer. Ik zoek binnen Ansichtkaarten bijvoorbeeld op 'Henk Rotgans'. Ik weet dat er honderden kaarten in de Catawiki database moeten zitten. Er worden maar 9 resultaten getoond. Het lijkt er op alsof uitsluitend de kaarten die in een Reeks zitten worden getoond

When I search within Postcards for: "Brent Goose, Henk" I get 637 results.

Search terms Henk Rotgans - Brent - Brent Brent goose searched and 100+ hits on everything. Both with Safari as a browser and Google Chrome

Within Postcards I also get only 9 results with the search term: "Henk Rotgans". The name Henk Rotgans is mentioned in the title of these 9 Postcards.

No differences with number of hits when I search this way.

The new search engine is coming. There is currently a live A / B test in which you search through the old machine one time and the new machine the next. You have no influence on that, it just happens. Hence, different outcomes are reported.

Last night I made some notes that I will record with the experts tomorrow so they can refine and improve things.

Fact: if you searched with the old search engine, the Catalog headings at the top of the left column are missing. Feel free to play with it today and report your findings here. Everything helps.

No, only the new search engine is still a bit demented here and there, (;-)

Thank you for your comments. I also thought for a moment that I didn't have them all listed. hopefully the new search engine will work the right way quickly because somehow I always end up with the new search engine ...

I do everything, as you understand. I am now trying to find out if the relevant expert is working today.

I was already afraid of it: free until Tuesday. Another is now looking at whether at least the Catalog headings can be indexed at word level, so that, for example, 'Henk Rotgans' is found again and not just 'Rotgans, Henk'. That is now the most disturbing and duplicating problem. The rest is still a few days to live.

The 'Brent Goose Problem' has been fixed. Yippee!

I'd love to hear if you guys see any crazy stuff in the new version. We will handle that from Tuesday.

Old situation

When I searched within records and CDs for "Philips sing", I got a few finds within the series on the left. When clicking on "more" I got a neat list of all series with the number of items behind them in order of the number of items.

New situation

Now I get all fields on the left and almost 3000 items on the right. If I go to Series in the left column, I get 5 finds, the bottom two of which do not meet the search criteria. If I then click on more, I get a very bad overview with quite a few finds that do not meet the search criterion.

If I search again within that series overview for "Philips sing" I get they are all, but not as neatly arranged as before.

In short, I have to perform a lot more actions and the result is not as good as it used to be.

PS With "Philips sing" search all Philips Singles-Series

I suspect that will be fixed once my corrections are made, but I'll be keeping an eye on it. The search engine currently also shows all expired sections of the past 9 years. (;-)

Edit: I took a look, but I'm afraid you saw this in the old search engine. The new one is doing well in this regard.

The search engine may also be all expired categories, but I assume only matching with the search term. I search for Philips singles and get All 13 right ;-)

I explained it above. If you don't see the Catalog Headings heading at the top of the left column, then you're in the old one.

In the course of today we will all transition to the new search engine. From tomorrow we will focus on fine-tuning. Nearly 3,500,000 items have been re-indexed, so leftover junk from years past is gone instantly. And with that also all the irritations about it, I hope. (;-)

If you search for Doublure now, a lot of junk has been cleaned up, but there are still about 40 left at Strips that have already disappeared. So partially happy (;-))

Logically, that should be impossible, but we're looking at it.

On the first page with duplicates at Stamps there are also 8 that have been removed for a long time. You will recognize them quickly because there are no subsections.
