Dear Co-Collectors,

Recently I started building a Corgi collection.

I am particularly concerned with the period say between 1960 and 1970.

I notice that there is a lot of supply on the internet (eg Ebay and Catawiki).

A mint car delivers a lot of money if with original box.

I notice that there are, however, many companies that reproduce the boxes. Repro boxes are apparently also trade.

My question now is: can you tell me what the characteristics are of an original Corgi box? How to distinguish it from a replica? Take the Chrysler Ghia as an example, how do I know if I am dealing with an original box?

Are there any handles for that? What kind of guidelines do you use yourself?

Thanks in advance for a possible answer,

greetings,

Frans Konings

Hello Frans,

a first indication is often the price, for 5 - 10 euros you generally do not buy an original box.

in addition, the type of paper ( feel & amp; touch + color) a hint as well as vague terms such as repro, new, replacement packaging etc.

last but not least: go to a model car fair and see the differences, you don't have plain text like this the knowledge.

success!
