LyonesseHet is een hele mooie, maar geen favoriet van mij. Niet romantisch genoeg, vrees ik ;-)
Ik denk dat ik 'Anyone Who Had a Heart' en 'I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself' het allermooiste vind. Van de laatste song ken ik nog een fijne uitvoering van Elvis Costello.

Bij veel andere Bacharach/David-songs heeft Warwick echter niet mijn voorkeur. Het is heel merkwaardig, maar de songs van Bacharach/David lijken vaak meer geschikt om 'gewoon' rechttoe-rechtaan gezongen te worden door minder begaafde zangeressen dan Warwick. Zij maakt ze eigenlijk veel te mooi (wat ik dan weer minder geslaagd vind).

I think I like ' Anyone Who Had a Heart ' and ' I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself ' the most. I still know a fine version of the last song by Elvis Costello.
Give me Dionne Warwick, and at least you'll understand the lyrics.
BoekenmagazijnIn any case, the song comes out a bit smoother with Dionne Warwick.
However, with many other Bacharach/David songs, Warwick is not my favorite. It is very strange, but the songs of Bacharach / David often seem more suitable to be sung 'just' straight forward by less gifted female singers than Warwick. She actually makes them way too beautiful (which I find less successful).
