At the carrier "6" vinyl "you can find a pair of 6", 78 rpm records. Put yours with this carrier, not with "78 rpm".

Good afternoon, just a question, we want to place 78 rpm records on which site is the best place to do this and when they are sold how can they best be transported since these types of records are fragile anyway

Thrift store? are actually only used for fröbel work ashtrays, coasters, art objects, etc., most recently seen in a bistro that hung objects full of music as a bread basket.

As Baronselderie-5 said to the thrift store, put them there next to the comics from after 1960!

@baronselderie:

Regarding the fiddling, you are probably mistaken. I've only seen the ashtrays, fruit bowls and other crafts in a vinyl liner, that is, made from old 7 "vinyl singles and 12" records.

Other than that, you're right. If it's not blues or rock 'n roll, it's better to take 78rpm records to a thrift store. Also save a lot of effort and headaches when it comes to packaging.

You can sometimes try to sell 78 rpm records at Platenmanneke / Plexus in Delft. They still have customers for that ...

True was Vinyl, the plates (78) that were glued to the wall were made of fragile material, a lot with the dog and the gramphone in different colors for an evening, nice But it is very busy to the eyes

It is much better to take all 78 rpm records to the thrift store right away and maybe it's an idea to tell me where they were brought, then I'll take them right away.

I only have 11000 so there may be some I don't have yet I mainly use them in my Jukeboxes and most of them are old Jazz records.

I especially like the one-sided ones.

And yes, there are already enough tea bags in the catalog that do not need 78 T plates.

Unfortunately I have not yet received a clear answer how the 78 rpm records can best be packaged for shipping

Thank you An14Allias for your offer.

Pack them in 2 tempex plates with cardboard around them anyway, they do not fit through the letter plate anyway and tempex weighs nothing and they weigh it so such a plate can also.

the translation comes from babel

this is how you package 78 rpm records
This data must be collected the way you did for the LP. But you have to take into account that a material 78 is more fragile than vinyl. You should also know that 78 rpm drives have no external coatings and are only made with paper sleeves. This packaging must be LPs in the same way.

Your mailer box should be 10 inches on each side. Place a piece of cardboard on the bottom of the mailbox, followed by the bubble wrap. The bubble wrap will ensure the safety of the state, as it does not have the outer sheaths. Then put the 78s, cover again with cardboard and bubble wrap. Do the same procedure until you are done with the last piece. Just put bubble wrap and cardboard between each piece. And finally, always safe in the box. There should be no space for the plate to slide back and forth in the box.

the translation is about Shellac

Transparent and flexible covers for 78 rpm shellac records, see above

but the questioner should also know what he is doing with it and also put in a little of his own energy

Hey,

Just a reaction from Belgium about those 78 rpm records. In the thrift store you will not find it with us. In Antwerp - where I live - they are still offered with accompanying turntables and gramophone. And they are quite expensive too. In Antwerp you can even find a second hand record store that sells it for 5 euros / piece.

Why? Many recordings were lost before they were put on vinyl. I myself am in possession of an old gramophone (around 1920-1930) and even the "needles" are difficult to obtain. You can hardly find the old "Bakelite" plates anymore. You don't even see them at flea markets.

By the way, I haven't seen any old 78 rpm records for sale in any thrift store in Belgium. Vinyl enough ...

This is just some info, but they are becoming rare ...

Greetings from Belgium

Guy

Hello Guy, I even have 78 rpm records that need to be put on a pathephone, I do have a pathephone, but to sell them so expensive I think it's ridiculous, but nice to hear this

Greetings Anne
