Bij het veld Beeldformaat heb ik de keuze tussen 16:9 en 4:3.
Deze verhoudingen zeggen alleen iets over de beeldverhouding van het apparaat waarop de DVD of Video kan worden afgespeeld. De echte filmformaten zijn (o.a.) 1.33:1, 1.85:1 en 2.35:1.
Verder wordt t.b.v van DVD en Videoband, met name bij het formaat 2.35:1 nog wel eens geknoeit met PAN en ZOOM om de film zo veel mogelijk beeldvullend op een 4:3 -scherm te krijgen. Voor filmliefhebbers een grote ergernis.
Ik zou graag zien dat het veld Beeldformaat de keuze geeft voor de werkelijke filmverhoudingen i.p.v. apparaatverhoudingen.

These ratios only say something about the aspect ratio of the device on which the DVD or Video can be played. The real film formats are (ao) 1.33: 1, 1.85: 1 and 2.35: 1.
Furthermore, for DVD and Videotape, the 2.35: 1 format in particular sometimes messes with PAN and ZOOM to get the film as much as possible on a 4: 3 screen filling the screen. This is a major annoyance for film lovers.
I would like to see the Image format field give the choice for the actual film ratios instead of device ratios.

Indien mogelijk graag nog het filmformaat 1.66:1 toevoegen. Dat kom ik bij diverse films tegen maar kan nog niet gekozen worden.

Cinemascope en Widescreen mag je van mij achterwege laten. Cinemascope geeft namelijk eigelijk geen beeldverhouding aan maar de manier van opnemen van widescreen films op normale 35mm film en het is eigenlijk heel ouderwets. Widescreen kan volgens mij alles betekenen dat breder is dan 1.33:1 dus ook die benaming voegt niets toe.

You can omit Cinemascope and Widescreen from me. Cinemascope does not actually indicate an aspect ratio, but the way of recording widescreen films on normal 35mm film and it is actually very old-fashioned. Widescreen can, in my opinion, mean anything that is wider than 1.33:1, so that name also adds nothing.

Als er staat 16:9 / 1.6:1 zou ik het liefste beide willen kunnen invoeren. 16:9 (het meest vermelde formaat) is nu verwijderd uit de keuzelijst. Ik denk niet dat veel mensen weten welk formaat ze nu als alternatief daarvoor moeten invoeren. Ik vindt het er zo niet duidelijker op geworden.

The most convenient thing is if you can enter what is also on the cover. If it says 16:9 / 1.6:1 I would prefer to be able to input both. 16:9 (the most commonly mentioned format) has now been removed from the selection list. Als oplossing hiervoor zijn de beeldformaten nu:
