Throbbing Gristle was an experimental avant garde band from England formed in 1973 by Genesis P-Orridge. More

The band also consisted of Cosey Fanni Tutti, Chris Carter (later Chris & Cosey) and Peter Christopherson (later together with Genesis P-Orridge as Psychic TV). Throbbing Gristle is considered to be the first industrial band as well as the creator of the term industrial, derived from the record label Industrial Records they founded.
