After a few years he employed 40 people who produced cigars of the brand "De Zakkenroller". In 1911 Alex Wolters, who gained experience in the cigar factory of Retera in Beek, took over the business management. The name changed to J. Heesterbeek & Co. with a branch in Bergeijk with brands such as "De Oude Valk" and "Vrede". In 1919 Heesterbeek and Wolters visited the opera Rigoletto by Giuseppe Verdi, in which the court jester Rigoletto played a tragic role.
