Postcards from Tremezzo catalogue

Tremezzo is a town with approximately 1,300 inhabitants and is part of the municipality of Tremezzina, in the province of Como (Lombardy). Until 3 February 2014, it was an independent municipality.

Archaeological finds dating back to the pre-Roman era have been made in the territory of Tremezzo. Additionally, several Roman tombs have been discovered in the Intignano district, indicating a long history of habitation.

During the "Guerra decennale" (Ten Years' War), Tremezzo was plundered twice by troops from Como, which had a severe impact on the local population.

In the periods 1808–1816 and 1928–1947, Tremezzo previously served as the administrative center of the then larger municipality of Tremezzina.
