Leo

Leo began his career as an illustrator for an American company, but after a year he decided to offer his illustrations to various newspapers. His first comic strip, a science fiction story, was published in the mid-70s in the magazine 'O Bicho'. Around the same time, he discovered European comics in magazines such as 'Pilote' and 'Métal Hurlant', which inspired him to try his luck in France. In 1981, he moved to Paris.

Success was slow in coming. Despite some publications in 'L'Écho des savanes' (1982) and 'Pilote' (1985), he had to work in advertising. His breakthrough came in 1986 when Jean-Claude Forest, the creator of Barbarella, asked him to draw realistic stories for the magazine 'Okapi'. In 1989, Leo illustrated the life of Gandhi in an album published by Centurion.

One of his stories caught the attention of scriptwriter Rodolphe, who asked him to provide the drawings for his new series "Trent" (Dargaud). The first album, "L'Homme mort", appeared in 1991, and Leo's career really took off.

In 1993, Leo realized a long-cherished dream with the publication of the first part of the five-part saga "Aldébaran" (Dargaud), a science fiction series that he both wrote and drew. This series was followed by the cycles "Bételgeuse" (2000), "Antarès" (2007), "The Survivors" (2011), "Return to Aldébaran" (2018), and the diptych "Neptune" (2021). In 2023, a new cycle began with "Bellatrix", set in the universe of Aldébaran.

The series "Trent" was completed in 2000, but Leo and Rodolphe did not stop. They created "Kenya" (2001), followed by "Namibia" (2010) and "Amazonie" (2016).

Leo works on several projects simultaneously, such as "Dexter London" (2002), "Far Worlds" (2009), "The Last Frontier" (2014), and "Mermaid Project" (2012) with the sequel series "Mutations" (2018). He also wrote "La Porte de Brazenac" (2014) together with Rodolphe and Patrick Pion.

In 2022, Leo, Rodolphe and Marchal launched the series "Scotland" (Dargaud), a mix of thriller and science fiction
