ADO is a classic Dutch brand of high-quality wooden children's toys. It was founded in 1922 as occupational therapy for tuberculosis patients. The brand name, which originally stood for Arbeid door Onvolwaardigen (Work by the Disabled), was later interpreted as Apart, Doelmatig en Onverwoestbaar (Distinctive, Efficient, and Indestructible).
