Lewis Trondheim was born on December 11, 1964 in Fontainebleau. After a bachelor's degree in philosophy, he takes classes in graphic design. In 1987, at a comics colloquium, he meets Jean-Christophe Menu and discovers a way of making comics other than 46 coloring pages. A year later, he only signs the twelve songs of his fanzine ACCI H3319.
In 1990 he founded the publishing house L'Association with JC Menu, David B., Stanislas, Killoffer and Matt Konture. From 1991 he works in the studio Nawak (later the atelier des Vosges), where he meets authors such as Christophe Blain, Emile Bravo, Joann Sfar and Brigitte Findakly. In 1992, "Lapinot et les carottes de Patagonie", a 500-page peat, was published by L'Association. A year later he married Brigitte Findakly.
He publishes at several publishers (Cornélius, Le Lézard and Seuil) in addition to his work at L'Association.
