Little is known about Ceramic Maltese. The collection contains a number of colorful tiles that are signed on the back with 'Maltese Delft', a clear reference to the location. An article in 'Gemengde Branche' from 1964 describes the company, referred to as 'Ceramic Maltzer' and shows some new products. MGF Kuijper was the owner, originally a mechanical engineer and lived in Delft. How he ended up in ceramics is not described, but according to the author of the article it was '…a chapter in itself…' The first products were made in Leiden and later in three different places in Delft. To better combine living and working, the company moved to the more centrally located Voorthuizen in Gelderland. The company employed 30 people who worked in a modern workshop where decorative pottery was turned and cast by hand.

Over Ceramiek Maltezer is weinig bekend.
