F - Les Samoa sont un État indépendant de Polynésie occidentale, situé dans l'ouest de l'océan Pacifique sud, appelé les Samoa-Occidentales jusqu’en 1997. Occupant la partie occidentale des îles Samoa, l'autre partie étant sous administration américaine, les Samoa comprennent quatre îles habitées et six îlots inhabités. En 1899, les Samoa étaient divisées en deux parties : les Samoa allemandes et les Samoa orientales (sous contrôle américain). Cette division persiste encore aujourd'hui. En 1914, la Nouvelle-Zélande prend le contrôle des Samoa occidentales. Elle les garde ensuite sous mandat de la Société des Nations puis sous mandat de l'Organisation des Nations unies jusqu'en 1961. Les Samoa occidentales obtiennent leur indépendance le 1er janvier 196215 à la suite d'un référendum. Le 4 juillet 1997, les Samoa-Occidentales changent de nom pour prendre celui de Samoa.
E - Samoa is an independent state of Western Polynesia, located in the western South Pacific Ocean, called Western Samoa until 1997. Occupying the western part of the Samoa Islands, the other part being under US administration, Samoa comprises four inhabited islands and six uninhabited islets. In 1899, Samoa was divided into two parts: German Samoa and Eastern Samoa (under US control). This division still persists today. In 1914, New Zealand took control of Western Samoa. She then kept them under the mandate of the League of Nations and then under the mandate of the United Nations until 1961. Western Samoa gained independence on 1 January 196215 following a referendum. On 4 July 1997, Western Samoa changed its name to Samoa.
