Silhouetten comic book catalogue

As a permanent employee of the weekly magazine Tintin and consequently also its cheaper sister magazine Ons Vokske , some places had to be filled every now and then. It was these employees who took care of advertising assignments, made illustrations and also some gag strips.

Jacques Laudy has been helping to fill the weekly magazine Ons Volkske since the 1950s. It is here that the gags in the form of silhouettes first appears, although Laudy had already practiced a bit with this form in the magazine Tintin with "The Thief of Baghdad" from 1948 (see attached image). There you see Hassan and Kaddoer in silhouette, which is already very reminiscent of the later "Silhouettes" of the fat and thin main character.

In addition to Ons Volkske, a few Silhouettes also appeared in the weekly Tintin, which is why not always with the fat and thin figure in the leading role.

Until 1956, these strips continued to brighten up Ons Volkske. In 1981 a few gags appeared in an album , although the image is less sharp due to the enlargement of the drawings.
