Roco

When the first Roco models were in European stores in 1973, it was not a debut, because already in 1960 the company “Ing. Heinz Rössler” founded in Salzburg. First of all, military vehicles were produced in H0 with the brand name Minitanks. From 1966 mainly American N-gauge models were produced for Trix, Atlas, AHM, Model Power, but there was also a H0e narrow gauge railway. In 1967 German H0 freight car sets of the Peetzy brand appeared. In 1972 the cooperation with Trix was terminated. In 1973, this was the reason for launching a complete own assortment on the market called Roco International. In 1976 the range could be expanded further by taking over the bankrupt company Röwa. Then the close coupling for H0 was also presented. It was not until 1977 that the name was officially changed to “Roco Modellspielwaren GmbH & Co KG”. After the death of ing. Rössler in the same year, the company remained in the possession of the family under the leadership of Walter Tschinkel. Later models in scale TT also appeared.
In 2002 Roco went bankrupt. Peter Magdefrau, a former employee, has temporarily taken over the company with the help of the bank. He moved part of the production to Slovakia, but did not make it and Roco went bankrupt again in 2005. In 2007, the Modelleisenbahn Holding was founded by a new owner: Franz Josef Haslberger, a building contractor in Munich. He carried out a major reorganization and sold “Minitanks” to Herpa. When Fleischmann went bankrupt in 2008, he also took over Fleischmann, so that Fleischmann and Roco are now under one roof. Roco N has expired. Some models reappeared at Fleischmann Piccolo. In 2011, Roco returned to Raiffeisenbank Salzburg. Three months later, the manager, Leopold Heher, together with two investors, Messrs. Edenhofer and Steinparzer, took over Modelleisenbahn Holding and incorporated it into Model Railway Holding AG, a company owned by one of the investors. They also did not make it and in 2017 the Raiffeisenbank regained possession of Roco.

In 2007 the Modelleisenbahn Holding was established by a new owner: Franz-Josef Haslberger an entrepreneur in Munich. He carried out an extensive reorganization and sold “Minitanks” to Herpa. When in 2008 Fleischmann went bankrupt he also bought Fleischmann so Fleischmann and Roco became unified under one roof. Roco N was cancelled. Some models reappeared under the label of Fleischmann Piccolo. In 2011 the ownership of Roco returned to the Raiffeisenbank Salzburg. Three months later the manager mr. Leopold Heher, together with two investors messrs. Edenhofer and Steinparzer took over the Modelleisenbahn Holding and fitted it into the Railway Holding AG, a company owned by one of the investors. But they did not succeed either and in 2017 the Raiffeisenbank again became the owner.

Heinz Rössler” opgericht in Salzburg.

In 2002 ging Roco failliet. Roco N is vervallen.
