Sam Rosen (died 1992), often referred to as S. Rosen, was an American calligrapher best known as a letterer for Marvel Comics during the period fans and historians call the Silver Age of comic books. Along with letterer Artie Simek, Rosen created the lettering and logo designs for virtually every Marvel Comics published in the 1960s.

Sam Rosen began his career as a comic book letterer in New York City in 1940, working on writer-artist Will Eisner's The Spirit, the seven-page lead strip in a comic-book-style Sunday supplement offered to newspapers.[2] During this period, he also worked for Fox Comics and Sangor Studio, a comic book publisher.

It's difficult to trace Rosen's work, as comic book letterers weren't routinely credited until the early 1960s. From his first confirmed Marvel Comics credit, the three-page synopsis "The Origin of the Hulk" in The Incredible Hulk #3 (September 1962), Rosen, along with Artie Simek and his brother Joe Rosen, became one of Marvel's most important letterers. He hand-drew the speech bubbles and sound effects for virtually every comic produced by the company, including flagship titles like The Amazing Spider-Man and Fantastic Four.

In addition to his work for Marvel in the 1960s, Rosen also worked extensively as a letterer for Archie Comics during that period.

Rosen's last known comic book work is the 20-page story "One Into Two Won't Go" in Captain America #156 (December 1972).
