In the late 1940s, Mr. D. Manuel Gonzales in Barcelona a company that imported and repaired Märklin models. In 1951 Manuel Gonzalez had his son Jaime, who had gained experience with him, built a workshop in Cornella de Llobregat near Barcelona. Here locomotives, passenger cars and freight cars were made of tin in gauge 0 under the name Electrotren. Production grew rapidly, which prompted a search for a larger and more central location. In 1955 they moved to Madrid. At the same time, the production of track 0 was terminated and replaced by H0. Initially for 3-rail AC, because Electrotren was licensed by Märklin. The rails were even interchangeable. However, the number of locomotive models has remained limited. There were always improved and new cars, also as a kit. At the end of the 1970s, 2-rail direct current was added. Electrotren exported a lot to France and Germany, so in addition to the Spanish models, French and German models have also appeared. The first N model appeared in 1998, after an N model had already been made for Lemke. In 2004 the family business was taken over by Hornby with the agreement that the models and the Electrotren name would be maintained for another ten years. Hornby continued the brand for H0 thereafter, but track N was incorporated into the Arnold program.

0 gauge locomotives, passenger coaches and goods wagons were manufactured named Electrotren. Production grew fast resulting in a search for a large and more central location. In 1955 they moved to Madrid. At the same time production of 0 gauge was canceled and replaced by H0. Initially for three rail Märklin system, because Electrotren possessed a Märklin licence. Track was compatible. However, the number of locomotive models remained rather small. On the other hand new and improved wagons and coaches were added. End of the 70s the two rail DC system was added. Electrotren exported a lot to France and Germany so besides the Spanish models French and German models were produced. In 1998 the first N model appeared after an earlier model for Lemke. By 2004 the family business was taken over by Hornby. The agreement was that models and name would be maintained for another ten years. Thereafter Hornby maintained the brand for H0 but N gauge was incorporated in the Arnold program.

Eind 40er jaren had dhr. In 1955 verhuisde men naar Madrid.
