Stamps from Slovakia

Slovakia was part of the dual monarchy of Austria-Hungary until 1918, when it was part of the Hungarian part. After World War I, it became part of Czechoslovakia, which then emerged as a country.

From 1939 until the end of World War II it became an independent state on paper again, but in practice it was a satellite state of Nazi Germany.

After the Second World War it again formed part of Czechoslovakia, until the country's split into Slovakia and the Czech Republic in early 1993.
