Amsterdam pop art band. Initiative of bob Bouber (the ZZ of ZZ & De Maskers) Active between 1965 and 1967. They made 5 singles for Fontana. More

It stems from The Mads, a band that already enjoys a reputation in Amsterdam with rock hard music. The brain behind the band is Bob Bouber, who after his period as ZZ van de Maskers needs something new. With his good nose for the zeitgeist and the possibilities of publicity, he quickly draws attention to the group. Following the example of The Small Faces and The Who, the band members adopt a mod image, including clothing in the op-art style (shirts with images with traffic signs). The promotional stunt of the first single Ik Heb Geen Zin Om Te Standen gives the band national fame in one fell swoop. During rush hour, the band members, located in a large crib on wheels, are driven onto Dam Square. After ten minutes the happening is called off by the police, who in that year have a lot to do with provos, nozems and other long-haired young people. With a lazy beat and in simple but effective wording I Have No Feeling To Get Up interprets the universal morning dilemma: "With my feet against your pajamas" or "with my big, bare hands to my boss". The text is by Bob Bouber, who continues with Geen Zin on the Dutch-language path that he had already embarked on in 1963 with Dracula van ZZ and the Masks. Incidentally, Bouber has awarded the credits for this evergreen and for the b-side, Only Op Het Kerkhof, to his then wife T. (Tinka) Bouber.

With Kejje Nagaan the band has a modest second hit. Two English-language singles in 1966 and 1967 do not catch on at all. In 1967 Het becomes Pocomania, the backing band of rhythm & blues singer Davy Jones, and they form Het Pocomania.

De tekst is van Bob Bouber die met Geen Zin voortgaat op de Nederlandstalige weg die hij in 1963 al had ingeslagen met Dracula van ZZ en de Maskers. Overigens heeft Bouber de credits van deze evergreen en van de b-kant, Alleen Op Het Kerkhof, gegund aan zijn toenmalige vrouw T. (Tinka) Bouber.

Met Kejje Nagaan heeft de band een bescheiden tweede hit. Twee Engelstalige singles in 1966 en 1967 slaan helemaal niet aan. In 1967 gaat Het over in Pocomania, de begeleidingsband van rhythm & blues-zanger Davy Jones en vormen ze Het Pocomania.
