Kibri was founded in 1895 in Böblingen by Wilhelm Kindler and Adolf Briel. The company, then called Kindler & Briel, manufactured doll houses, miniature shops and accessories for the model railway in scales 1, 0 and 00. Wilhelm was succeeded after his death by Paul Kindler. It was also delivered to Trix. After the war, Fleischmann was still supplied with tin stations for track 0, but in the 1950s they switched to production of plastic. The name Kindler & Briel and Kibri were both on the packaging, after 1958 only Kibri remained. Later, the N and Z scales were added. In 2007, problems with the succession caused the bank to no longer support Kibri, so that Kibri almost went bankrupt, but was kept going by the company RiRe Maschinenfabrik GmbH. Production was concentrated at a Kibri factory in Schopfloch. Finally, Viessmann took over the inventory from Kibri in 2009 and moved production to Hungary and Romania.
