F - La république de Chypre est un État situé sur l'île de Chypre en Asie, dans la partie orientale de la mer Méditerranée, dans le bassin Levantin. Bien que Chypre soit géographiquement proche de la région du Proche-Orient, le pays est rattaché politiquement à l'Europe et est membre de l’Union européenne (UE). Depuis la fin du Moyen-Âge l’île faisait partie de l’Empire ottoman et de la Turquie. En 1878 l’île tombe sous le protectorat britannique qui en assuma l’administration et un premier bureau de poste fut ouvert à Larnaca. La république de Chypre actuelle obtient son indépendance du Royaume-Uni le 16 août 1960.
E - The Republic of Cyprus is a state located on the island of Cyprus in Asia, in the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea, in the Levantin basin. Although Cyprus is geographically close to the Middle East region, the country is politically attached to Europe and is a member of the European Union (EU). Since the end of the Middle Ages the island was part of the Ottoman Empire and Turkey. In 1878 the island fell under the British protectorate which assumed the administration and a first post office was opened in Larnaca. The present Republic of Cyprus gained independence from the United Kingdom on 16 August 1960.
