Roxy Music were a British rock group formed in the early 1970s as a collaborative project between Bryan Ferry (vocals, keyboards) and Brian Eno (electronic music).[source?] The band existed from 1971 to 1975 (after 1973 without Eno ) and from 1979 to 1983. Other members were Phil Manzanera (guitar), Andy Mackay (saxophone, among others) and Paul Thompson (drums and percussion). Eddie Jobson (synthesizer and violin) replaced Eno from 1973. The group has never had a permanent bass guitarist; this role was successively filled by Graham Simpson, Rik Kenton, Sal Maida, John Porter, John Wetton, John Gustafson and Alan Spenner.[1] In 2001 a Roxy Music reunion was organized with Ferry, Thompson, Manzanera and Mackay. Together they toured and performed in Berlin at Live 8 in June 2005. On November 3, 2014 it was officially announced that the band had broken up.[2]
