In 1986 publishing house Indira from Jakarta introduced Suske en Wiske in Indonesia. Two albums were released that year under the series title Bobby dan Wanda. The names in the title are a mixture of terms used in other languages. Bobby is derived from French, in which Suske as Bob is known. Wiske received the same name in these Indonesian releases as in the albums that were released in America in the 1970s, Wanda, As was the case with other publications in foreign languages, the Indonesian publisher also had plans to publish more volumes.
