Details

The Autotron was a car museum in the Netherlands. It started with the collection of Max Lips, director of Lips ship propellers. In 1972 the car museum was opened in Drunen. The museum there became nationally known, partly because of the architecture of Anton Pieck. In 1987 it was moved to Rosmalen. The collection included the first four-wheel drive car built by Spyker and the last remaining Eysink. In 1988 the then world record for dropping dominoes was broken here. This was the beginning of what was broadcast on TV as Domino Day from 1998. There were some attractions, such as an old-timer track (similar to those at the Efteling and Walibi Holland) and a narrow-gauge train. The material from the narrow gauge train has been transferred to the Gelderse Narrow Gauge Foundation (GSS). The Autotron collection of cars has been taken over by the National Automobile Museum in Raamsdonksveer, which has been housed in the Louwman Museum in The Hague since 2010. The day attraction Autotron has been closed since September 2003. Under the name Autotron Rosmalen it has been a trade fair and event location ever since. The owner is Libéma
