Explanation (with permission) via puzzle expert Geert Bekkering: As soon as you see that little / crazy white dog it is clear. From 1926 on, “Aunt Irma”, the painter Irma Graeff, provided pictures for the jigsaw puzzles of the J.W. Spear & Söhne from Nürnberg-Box. The dog is called "Butzi". Lower right on the front plate "Made in Germany", presumably a J.W. Spears edition. Year estimated on the basis of the color lithographs, the wooden box and an old Bijenkorf sticker on the bottom of the box. Edges around the box are decorated with holly leaves and the red berries. 4 of the 6 images were originally included in the box as separate examples. For completeness of the 6 puzzles, the other 3 are shown in history.
