Details

De Priba (Prix Bas) is a former Belgian department store chain founded in 1932 by another department store chain à l'Innovation (now Galeria Inno). In the same year, competitor Au Bon Marché started with the similar Prixunic-Uniprix, but both chains merged a year later. A first rapprochement between à l'Innovation et Au Bon Marché. From then on, and until the integration into the GIB group, 50% of the shares were in the hands of the Innovation, 25% in the hands of the Bon Marché and the balance of 25% in the hands of directors of the Bon Marché. The chain disappeared from the streets in the 1970s with the large-scale merger of various department store chains (Inno, Au Bon Marché, Grand Bazar, Sarma, Priba, ...) that would become part of the GIB group. The Société anonyme belge des Magasins Prisunic-Uniprix et Priba (Single Prize) was liquidated on September 5, 1972. Priba's real estate was managed by the subsidiary nv Pribimmo.
