Subtitle: A portrait gallery of Their Serene Highnesses the Coburgs of Belgium. "Long live the King" is a cycle of poem written by Nic van Bruggen p.p. with akwarellen by Jan Vanriet and first published in 1973 in Avenue magazine, after which it was also included in the collection "Breathless Season". The introduction was, except for a few minor changes, written on behalf of Photogravure De Schutter (Antwerp) as the cover text for its 1980 calendar. "Long live the King" was reissued on the initiative of publisher Walter Soethoudt as a plaque on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Belgium. All copies of the limited edition of 500 were signed by the poet. Bound in burgundy linen with gold stamping, and provided with a reading ribbon in the colors of the Belgian flag.
