"Long live the King" is a cycle of poem written by Nic van Bruggen p.p. with akwarellen by Jan Vanriet and first published in 1973 in Avenue magazine, after which it was also included in the collection "Breathless Season". The introduction was, except for a few minor changes, written on behalf of Photogravure De Schutter (Antwerp) as the cover text for its 1980 calendar.
