Original drawing on paper in pen and ink, 1966, possibly published in the Saturday Evening Post or the New York Times, of German statesman Willy Brandt. Drawing on white paper is pasted onto a larger piece of paper which has a stamped New York address on verso. Brandt became West Germany’s foreign minister in 1966. Kroll, who left Germany in 1933 when the Nazis came to power, became a ‘celebrity caricaturist’ in the USA who drew caricatures of thousands of public figures in America and around the world. Paper size 15 x 10 cm (6 x 4 inch), image size 11 x 7 cm, signed lower right. In good condition.
