Portrait bust to the left of the Dutch painter Herman Saftleven (1609-1685). With a 4-line caption in French. Saftleven came from a family of painters; like his brother Cornelis Saftleven, he received his education from his father, who came from Antwerp. Around 1632 he moved to Utrecht, where he married in 1633 and where, apart from possibly a few journeys along the Rhine, he would stay all his life.
