Original political cartoon drawing in pen and ink with blue crayon on Goodall’s Bristol board, published in the Sydney Morning Herald on 31.12.1945 (in pencil on verso), shows ‘Father Time’ seeing out the old year and at the same time putting up the shutters on the ‘1945 fashion’, the Axis powers represented by Tojo, Hitler and Mussolini. Card size 47 x 37 cm, image size 35 x 27 cm, signed bottom right, with dedication ‘Astonishing health Keith’ in lower margin. There are two tears in top margin, one affecting the image which has been repaired with tape. Slight toning and some wrinkling of card. In reasonable condition.
