Original political/propaganda cartoon done on card in pen/brush and ink, around 1946, probably published in ‘Rude Pravo’ (Czech communist newspaper), shows western leaders, among them US secretary of state Dean Acheson and British foreign secretary Ernest Bevin, hiding behind the ‘dollar’ barrier trying to hold back communism in the shape of the communist worker carrying a flag with the word ‘mir’(peace) on it. The peace-loving communists will not be held back by the western leaders who are all voting ‘proti miru’ (against peace). Framed and matted for an overall size of 60 x 49 cm, image size 41 x 30 cm, signed top right. Extra piece of backing card attached under ‘dollar wheel’ at bottom right, otherwise in very good condition
