Seelig was a Dutch lieutenant general, knight third class in the Military William Order, commander in the Order of the Netherlands Lion, director of the Royal Military Academy and aide-de-camp in special service of the King. Portretbuste van Hendrik Gerard Seelig (1785-1864). Seelig was Nederlandse luitenant-generaal, ridder derde klasse in de Militaire Willems-Orde, commandeur in de Orde van de Nederlandse Leeuw, directeur van de Koninklijke Militaire Academie en adjudant in buitengewone dienst van de Koning.
