Details
Original editorial cartoon in pen and ink on card for the Toronto Telegram, around 1964. As Governor of Alabama, George Wallace was well known for his segregationist views. He had to deal with demonstrations and protests led by Martin Luther King in Birmingham and Montgomery and the desegregation of public schools and universities, which went ahead despite his opposition. This was a major headache (or nightmare) for him and his administration. Signed bottom left: Beaton The Telegram. Paper size 37 x 30 cm (14.5" x 11.5 inch). Printer’s notes on right margin.
