In October of 1959 the Bentley S2 by Bentley Motors was presented as a luxury personal carrier. The main difference to the S1 was the new V8 engine and an air conditioning upgrade. Just as it was done with the S1, Bentley also offered a more sportive version, namely the Continental. Bentley only supplied the ready to drive Chassis; the body was built by independent companies upon customers request. S2 bodies were made by Mulliner, James Young for the Coupé and the four door sedan, Park Ward made the cabriolet version and Hooper the exclusive sedan, Graber did a further version of the Coupé. In total 388 units of the S2 Continental were built.
