The artist and graphic artist Isaac Naarden was born in Amsterdam on April 16, 1902. He was educated at the Academy of Visual Arts in Amsterdam, where he was taught by A.J. Derkinderen and J.H. Jurres. Naarden was a member of the Sint-Lucas guild in Amsterdam and the Gooische Painters Association. As subjects for his drawings, watercolors, lithographs and paintings, he chose biblical scenes, landscapes, portraits and self-portraits. Among other things, Isaac Naarden took part in a group exhibition in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam in 1932.
