Size: to 100 mm (WRS: 121,5 mm) Location: All (sub)tropic seas and oceans worldwide These are not real shells. The 'shells' are eggcases made by the female animal to protect the eggs. There are 4 species but their is a discussion about a fifth species. A. hians is probably the most common argonaut in the world.
