Details

Belgian watchmaker born on 8/09/1888 in Lier and died there on 12/12/1970. He received training from his father in Switzerland. His first patented invention was the clock and carillon arrangement of the Lierse St. Gummarus Church. In 1930 he built his "jubilee clock" with 13 images, percussion and display. He incorporated it into the facade of a medieval fortress tower, now called the "Zimmer Tower". In 1932 he built a complicated astronomical clock with 57 scenes in the same tower. Three years later, for the World Fair in Brussels, he built a miracle clock with 93 hour dials.
