De frontcover is ietwat misleidend: de jongen (met blonde kuif en korte broek) die achter Dees aanloopt is niet Pigoe uit deze reeks, maar enkel iemand die toevallig "kabouter" Dees in zijn tuin ziet. Omdat de echte Pigoe maar meedoet vanaf verhaal 30 (en steeds in lange broek) zou men ten onrechte kunnen denken dat het om een herwerkte versie gaat van verhaal 3 (Het verkleinwater).
