Cotswold Blue The Open 2-Seater model came more generally to be known as the roadster; only 756 Series I right-hand drive 3.8 roadsters were built. Externally, the 4.2 Litre E-type was identical to the 3.8 when announced in 1964. With the more torquey 4.2 engine came a new and much improved all-synchronising gearbox; improved braking added to the appeal.
