Ember Red & Cream The Hillman Minx IIIA was part of the III series range of vehicles available between 1959 and 1960. 78.052 of this particular vehicle were produced during this period. Introduced in 1959 the MkIIIA was fitted with the same 1494cc engine as the earlier MkIII, but received significant changes including a much wider grille incorporating rectangular sidelights and a much larger windscreen. At the rear of the car, large, curved wings were added to all models, except the estate, together with large elliptical tail lamps. The floor-mounted gear lever became the standard and the column change was now an option extra.
