Kiazim Emin Bey, a Turk of Swiss origin, founded the tobacco factory Turmac in 1920 in Zevenaar with Willem Carel Buschhammer. The tobacco was supplied from Turkey and Macedonia, hence the name Turkish Macedonian Tobacco Company, or Turmac.
