Of the 25.877 Triumph Stags built in its seven year life, only 6.780 were sold abroad. A very small number, when you consider the original marketing aim had been to sell at least 50% of production overseas. Many Stags became unloved and rusty as they were not worth enough money to justify restoration. Happily, specialists have long solved the engine problems suffered by the car in its youth and the Stag has become the collectible classic it has always deserved to be.
