Details
Swiss-produced “Open Door” issue from the late analog print era. Distributed primarily in German-speaking Europe with limited international circulation. Increasingly difficult to source in strong condition. Represents the final phase of pre-digital European studio publishing. Stawis (Switzerland) was an independent European photo studio and adult print producer active mainly from the late 1970s through the 1990s. The company specialized in high-quality staged photography intended for international distribution in album and magazine format. Unlike many low-budget publishers of the era, Stawis maintained a consistent visual identity and professional production standards. Key characteristics of Stawis productions: • analog photography (35mm / medium format) • saturated 1980s–1990s color profile • staged interior and lifestyle settings • multi-country distribution • cover flags indicating language markets • consistent typography across numbered issues Stawis publications were widely distributed in Germany, France, the UK, Benelux and parts of Scandinavia.
